I produce and direct intimate, character-led documentary films for broadcast and theatrical release. Also a high-end camera and drone operator, I shoot all my own films.

 

I’ve been directing documentaries for over a decade. I’ve worked on all seven continents, in often extremely difficult conditions - from war zones like Iraq, to inside a maximum-security US prison, or on the front line of the refugee crisis in Greece.

 

My films are always about people. They have a distinctive look and narrative style that draws out the drama, emotion and humanity in a subject. I work with contributors to tell their story.

                                                                                           

Skills and Qualifications:

 

Camera operator

I primarily shoot on my own Sony FX9 with prime and zoom lenses. Also with the Canon 5D Mk IV. Visually stunning observational camerawork is my key strength, and I am also used to working with presenters and lighting.

 

Drone operator

Fully qualified and insured drone operator with CAA permissions and my own Phantom 4 Pro+.

 

Editor

Proficient in using both Final Cut and Avid Media Composer.

 

Hostile Environments

Full HEFAT course, qualified through 1st Option Safety, I’ve also undertaken chemical weapons training with Avon Protection. I’ve shot in hostile environments including conflict zones in Iraq, South Sudan and hostile environmental conditions in Antarctica, Ukraine and tornado chasing in the US.
